What is it like getting a job at a cash register?
-
Ok I'm 18 and i had my life planned out when i was at school i saved up £400 to get a forklift license because i know quite alot of people who work as fork lift drivers, i know it's not a great job and yours is better i just mean until i grow up a little more to get a better job but school just teaches you stupid Maths and English all the time nothing that you might need a little more like Interview skills or something, i had to learn what i a .C.V and a Reference was from my brothers so i really left school with nothing but grades, i paid for my forklift license myself and past it with no problem but i called up places for a job and everyone wanted experience for the job before they will take me on? So i have to work as a forklift driver before i can get a forklift job but how am i suppose to get a job as a forklift driver if i can't get a job as a forklift driver unless i've been one before? So i'm just going to go for something more easy for now, i seen stuff that places need people to work behind a cash register, i'm ok at math and i'm sure the numbers on a cash register is like a calculator anyway but for example if i worked at McDonald's and someone wanted 2 cheeseburgers a Mcflurry and 4 happy meals how am i suppose to know how much all them things what they ordered cost so i can add them up? And what other jobs would i have to do while i'm working there or do you stand behind a till 24/7? Anyone ever worked behind a cash register or have any tips/advice anything? =]

Answer:
Relax. If you're a cashier, at a fast food store, you just push the buttons that say "big mac" or whatever, and it automatically rings up the total. If you work at a regular store, you scan the tag on the item and it rings up the price. It's not like you do it by hand. You just have to know how to count money. It's pretty easy stuff.

0.008 Cent's for each dollar is the tax's, for one part, so just add and divide. You should have known that math is essential. You are an idiot, I have no way to answer other then you'll qualify and not lose the job whether you do bad or not. Fast food place's except the people who didn't make it in life.
