What happens if you included check number in account number when doing a money transfer?

• I got a rebate card and tried to transfer the money from the card to my checkings account but i accidently included the check number in my account number . the routing number is right tho . i cant find a way to stop the transfer and it says it should be complete in 2-3 days . so when the 3 days is over is the money going to be in my checkings account ? or will they send the money back to the rebate card ? or did i just mess up and lose money & theres no way of getting it back ?

  the transfer wouldn't go through, because the account number would be wrong. This might not be imeadiate, (hence the 2-3 day stipulation, time for your bank to say the number doesn't exist). Do these steps: 1)Try contacting who you transfered from, they can make the correction, though they may give you a hassle in waiting for it to reject first. 2) Contact your bank, as long as they haven't rejected the transfer, they can post it in the correct account. money-transfers of this type go as an ACH, so it includes the account number plus your name. 3) wait for it to reject and either bank to contact you (depending on each banks policy). The money isn't lost, however there is a *small* chance it goes into an incorrect account.
