How can I get money from my mom for essentials?

• I am currently unemployed and completely broke, I need money though for obvious essentials like food and gas to get me to job interviews. Before I would simply drive to her house and ask for the money I needed at that time, usually $10-20. The problem now is I've moved to a new house across the state from her(much better and much cheaper rent). Obviously I can't justify driving an hour just to get a small amount of cash, so the smart idea would be to ask for more money but go fewer times. The problem with that is I don't trust myself with cash as I know I'll waste it frivolously in that form. So my question is, are there any gift cards or restricted debit cards that can only be used for gas and food? I also don't want to be locked down to a certiain gas station/ food store chain as i like to shop around for the best deals. Also is there anyway for her to be able to refill it or mail me new ones, I really can't justify driving that distance until I have a job and can really afford it.

  You're an adult, stop asking Mommy, let her be and focus on her own goals and needs, retirement & such. I suggest you learn self discipline and learn to earn your own extra money. Ebay, picking up dog waste, selling hand-made crafts at flea markets, etc, use your brain. There are ways to get by until you get a full-time job. Leave mommy alone and grow up.
