How can I make sure I qualify for food stamps & cash aid?

  • I live with my parents but they don't qualify & I don't see why because they don't make that much, so since I am pregnant & I'm due next month I'm required to pay rent & help out with groceries now that is why I wanted to apply. I am still with the babys dad so I don't want to do anything that will put him on child support . Please let me know if you have food stamps &/or cash aid & how it works .

    When you apply for food stamps and cash aid the state will require you to seek child support from the father of the baby. That is just the law. You can't ask taxpayers to pay for your child when the father isn't paying. And depending on the rules in your state you might have to include then income of your parents as well. They are part of your household. Even people that live with roommates generally have include the roommates in their application.

How about getting a job and quit expecting the taxpayers to pay for it. Pay for you OWN baby.get a job at mcdonalds or something.work at a daycard center, but quit asking us to pay for it. Give it up for adoption. The government isn'responsible when kids do dumb thinks.

First of all, by the law the father pays child support. If you apply for food stamps or cash aid, they will seek the father out to pay child support first. It is his responsibility, not the tax payers to pay for his child. Secondly, if you are living with your parents, you won't qualify for food stamps in most cases because their income is counted. You might qualify for Welfare since you are having a baby, also look into WIC.
