Do the Suze Orman products work in Canada?

Suze Orman opinion, versus Dave Ramsey?

  • I enjoy listening to both Suze and Dave, but am wondering why does Suze not only seem to think separate accounts in marriage or "partners" are ok, but almost condones it? I realize she also assumes that they each know what the other has, no secrets, but still can be separate, whereas Dave insists joints accounts are the only way to go. Now I also realize Dave's thoughts are partially based on his religious beliefs and I actually tend to agree more with dave. Just wondered what your thoughts are on Suze's reasoning.

  • Answer:

Because each partner must build their credit separately, have some financial independence and it guarantees less arguments over money which happens to be the number one cause of break ups. When a joint account is used the system assumes incorrectly that the man is the main contributor and all credit reflects on him. If a female ends up divorced or a widow she has no credit and is unable to open accounts in her name including those with Utility Companies.

Other answers

Suze is a real financial adviser with strong education and background. Dave has many opinions that are not always financially best. Not sure if he ever went to college to study finance. Suze has great books out there with clear concise plans.
