ADDICTED TO BUYING THINGS AND SELLING THINGS ON EBAY HELP!!!?
-
Hi I've been registered on ebay for about 3 years now and never really bothered with it until about 5 months ago. I started buying cheap clothes because I wanted a whole new wardrobe, I bought 1 or 2 items a day then I started buying up to 8 items a day until I end up that my whole house is cluttered with stuff I don't really need or will never were. And that's when I began to realize that I had an addiction!! So to get my money back and clear the space I began to sell the clothes back on ebay and became a regular seller. But as soon as I seen my wardrobe getting emptied I went back on to the ebay stores and bought another new load of clothes for myself. Then I started shopping at wholesalers buying multiple boxes of clothing to sell on. My ebay Business is doing well and things are selling but as soon as I've got money in my account I have to go and spend it all the day it's there on more wholesalers clothing and clothes for myself and to sell on. The whole house is cluttered with boxes its so bad theres not an empty table in site! I have honestly tried to drag myself away from these sites but when I'm browsing I just see something I like and NEED to buy because I know it will make a bit of profit. Then I'm spending all my profit on clothing for myself on ebay that I just DON'T need but feel I NEED. Even when I haven't got any money I will still buy things :( Another thing is while running my items on auction I CANNOT keep off the site I'm constantly looking every 10 minutes to see if somebody has placed a bid on one of my items or somebody has messaged me to ask me a question. I' am sooooo addicted and I know I'm doing it I HATE IT! But I NEED to sell and I NEED to buy! This situation has even drove a wedge between me and my partner, he despises my ebay, he's over the moon I've found something I enjoy and its a bit of part time work for me but we can never really have any alone time anymore without me checking my ebay app on my phone during a movie, or when were out. Its pathetic and I know its all my fault but I actually feel sick if I don't look at it! I want to be able to save money but every last penny goes on ebay :( ?? And no I can't delete my account, I enjoy selling and will continue to do so to rake some money in, its just the spending thing I need help with?? Thanks!

Answer:
I don't see a problem with the part about buying stuff that you can profit from. Instead of looking for clothes for you to spend the profits on, look for more stuff that you can sell and profit from. Maybe branch out from clothing and try buying/selling some other stuff. You can look on eBay pulse to see what things are popular, then see if you can source those or related items. Go to your local thrift stores, Goodwill, yard sales, auctions, Craigslist, etc. and see if you see anything that you think you can profit on. If things go well for you but you run out of stuff you can try "eBay arbitrage", where you buy something off of eBay and then resell it there for a profit. Some sellers do not include important keywords in the title, give a poor description, poor pictures (or none at all), etc. All this stuff can scare potential buyers away, decreasing the competition and probably the final price. You could possibly buy the items and make a much better listing, and possibly profit. Sellers may misspell the main keywords in the title as well, meaning most potential buyers will never find them. You could try a misspelling search using a site like Typojoe.com to hopefully find some of these items and possibly get some great deals. You could also use a site like Ebuyersedge.com to set up saved eBay searches. You'd get an e-mail whenever a matching item is newly listed. Especially good for "Buy It Now"s that are priced right. Or, if you find some listed an auction format, use a sniping service such as Hidbid.com to place your bid for you. It'll bid in the last few seconds, helping you to save money and avoid shill bidding. Being obsessive isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it is probably a good thing when it comes to business. If you can replace the obsession for more clothing with the obsession for more profits, maybe you could become the next eBay millionaire. Make the desire to see your bank account balance grow become your new game.
