How long does bank to bank online money transfer take?

My dad's from London and he sent me money through online bank to bank transfer. I live in California and i use Bank of America. How long will it take?
Answer:

International transfers can take a real long time. US to US transfers are 2 to 3 working days. Expect a lot longer for UK to US.

My experience when doing external transfers from one bank to another bank online is that it took about 3 business days for everything to clear. I would hope it would be faster than that when you are dealing with an online only bank such as HSBC, but its hard to say.
