How can I Verify My e-mail?

How can I verify that an email I received for purchasing an item through Yahoo Finance! is legitimate?

I am buying a car from an individual in another state. He said he wants to it through Yahoo Finance!. The email I received (supposedly from [email protected]) says that I have to go to a Western Union office with the cash and have a wired to an agent in NY. There are no phone numbers in the email, and the link for asking questions does not work. There is a Yahoo Finance Invoice Transaction ID in the email.
