How can I get a loan without a job?

Can I get a loan without a job?

  • I have just been made redundant at work and now looking at doing my IRATA Level 1 training cource for window cleaning. To get a job doing this I need to be self-employed to which I will need to buy the equipment for it. I will need about £2000. Can I get a loan anywhere without a job? Thanks Jack

LOL Jack, I didn't even realise that you had to do a course in Window Cleaning. Prehistoric as this may sound I actually thought that window cleaning involved getting a few rags (an old torn up Tshirt would do), an old bucket or two, some washing up liquid, couple of sponges, a bottle of methylated spirits and a ladder - all this coupled with a lot of common sense which all human beings possess, would make a window cleaner. And once you have cleaned your first 10 windows you would then become an expert window cleaner. So I am completely baffled how you can possibly need to do a course in Window Cleaning let alone spend £2,000 on equipment? What are you buying? A couple of ladders or enough Scaffolding to last you your entire life? If you want my advice, forget about the miserable IRATA course, forget about the £2,000 and just buy the items I have mentioned (which should not cost you more than 100 quid) and then just go around your local streets cleaning windows. It is NOT rocket science and I certainly would not expect my window cleaner to have any degree!

It will be very hard as they like to see income coming in to be able to pay it back. Benefits do not count as income. Not enough redundancy money for the course? May be worth talking to your own bank first who have seen how you handle your account over the years and see if they will help you get started again.
