Confirming paypal through debit.

Confirming bank account on paypal?

  • I just asked a similar question but I think people were under the impression I was money laundering or something lol. I don't mind confirming my bank account on paypal. I'm just confused, I've never used it before. I got an email saying the money i withdrew was being transferred into my bank account. However I also received an email from paypal asking me to confirm my bank account. I haven't confirmed it yet, because it seems a little dodgy. Why is it asking me to set up a direct debit?

  • Answer:

Confirming your bank account is a paypal process where they will send or debit a small amount of money together with a transaction code. Once you receive or pay the money you can then enter the code on the confirmation screen in paypal. This allows paypal to confirm that you are the owner of the account and not a money launderer. If you do not set up a direct debit, they will limit how much you can purchase or receive. It is standard practise and nothing to worry about.
