What are the requirements for receiving EXTENDED Unemployment Benefits?

  • I lost my job in July of 2010. I have been collecting Regular Unemployment since. My Regular Unemployment runs out next week and in my field of work the hiring process takes a really long time (Law Enforcement). I am in the hiring process of many departments but not really close to being hired anywhere yet. How do you become eligible for EXTENDED Unemployment Benefits? Do you just apply after your Regular unemployment runs out and you are approved? What can I expect after my Regular unemployment runs out next week? What do I need to do for these extensions? Thank You in advance for your answers and wish me luck in finding a job. I cant wait to get back on the streets. It has been really rough the past 6 months.
