What is the status of an unsigned certified check?

Can I get a certified check for $13,000 at a Bank of America drive-thru.?

• I'm closing on a house tomorrow and need a certified check for $13,000. I had told the closing lady that I needed time to get the check in the morning since she just gave me the amt that we need and the banks are closed today. But they scheduled the close for 9 am anyways. I called a Bank of America help line and they said we could get a certified check from our account in the drive-thru (which opens at 7:30 am). I have learned to always check twice. I will call them again to see if another rep says the same thing, but I'd feel better if someone else has real experience with this situation.

  My experience with banks tell me that you can probably do so, but you may spend quite some time at the window. As long as you have proof of your identity and your account, I don't see why they would not do so. Getting a certified check is a normal bank transaction, and you should be able to conduct it at any teller, drive-thru or counter.
