How much should a person earn to be called rich in america?

    That all depends on what you define comfortable as. My parents make well lets say mid 6 figures and are very comfortable with life. Now I think that most people you and me could live well on a low 6 figure income in california. A average house in california costs about 450000 dollars.

Depends on the area, some areas 65K is alot more then 100K depending upon where you live and your commute, etc. I would say rich means you no longer have to work if you don't want to (meaning you can pay health insurance, no problem with bills, can travel some, etc., and don't have to work)
