Should I get a credit card to buy one thing?
-
I noticed the iPad 3 coming out soon (yeah who didnt right ?) lol if you didnt know its coming out march 16-2012 (5 days from todays date) So anyway Should I get a credit card to buy this new iPad 3 ? This will be my first ever iPad Currently with no job there isnt really any money coming in to cover the charge but every now and then I would sell somthing on ebay and beable to pay little by little that way Now if this thing costs about say $300 - $400...I think I would have no problem paying that off cause right now I saved up maybe $200 ...so I could charge the differance say bout half on the card and half on my debit card as long as some method of payment is paid on the card I could pay $10. or more here and there till I get the rest paid off thus making it no interest charges or whatever Is this a good idea or a bad idea ? If you say good idea what card would be best for this purchase ? I kinda see it as my own lay-way see I would pay everything off and then close the card but after reading up on the cards you cant do that people frown on that lol theres this thing called building your credit so yeah that stinks I would have to keep this card if I get one and try to never use it enless I know I can pay it off 100% I have my eye on 2 cards now im not getting 2 cards im just looking right now one card says they will give me x amount of money on my first purchase with no interest rates for the first 6 months or so and then reset back then the rates will apply the second card says if I spend 3 grand i will get flying miles I dont fly that much so I dont need it but im told I can trade those in for cash so maybe I dont know what card I should get...oh and some reviews said if I get a store credit card and have good history there then I will have a better chance at a real card ( Real card ? ) a credit card is a credit card they all rip you off in some way and really I know its a bad i dea to get any card but I want this iPad 3 ...alot of people in there reviews say its just like the old iPads with nothing really new on it...they talk about how theres a new ipad and those that have the old have the old ipad now its crazy cauise now when I read that I was questiong everything now....why were they saying that ? alright Thanks

Answer:
It's a bad idea. If you're getting a credit card simply to buy one thing that you want now, but can't afford to pay for in full, you're not only going to hurt your credit score doing that, you're going to end up paying a lot of extra money for this ipad. You might be able to sell things on ebay to make the minimum payment (or, you might not!!) - but if you don't pay it off in full when you first get your statement, you're paying interest on that money. Just start your ebay selling now. Save up enough money to buy the ipad outright.
