What happens when you cancel a debit card?

Should I cancel my Debit card?

• I have a Debit card. Used it to buy things on Ebay paying with Pay Pal. Pay Pal was taking the money from my Savings instead of Checking when I would pay for something( I didn't know this). I didn't have anything in my Savings so it became a negative balance. Next thing I saw I have $-600 I spoke to the people in the bank and Pay Pay. Pay Pal say they have nothing to do with it and that they did what "I told them to?" They were very rude. They also said it the bank that's charging me. I owed $80 to pay pal that was negative i paid for and they were still taking or trying to take money from my Savings. They stopped trying in 2/15/12 they started to overcharge me in 12/15/11 The bank said it's not there fault that Pay Pal kept trying to take money from the account but there wasn't any so every time they "tried" to take money they would then make my Saving more negative. The bank only dismissed one of the fees. They said I would have to pay the fees. Each fee was/is $35 each, there are 15 of them. The bank is Bank of America My question is...Should I/can I cancel my Saving account or should I just cancel Debit Card itself? And will I keep getting charged the fees as it is still negative.   Your debit card should never have been linked to your savings account in the first place. BOA is a screwed up bank. They are also charging you about ten bucks more each time than many other banks do. Unless you have overdraft protection on your savings account they should have denied every claim after it hit 0. Frankly I'd dump BOA.
