How do I sell stuff online?

How to sell my stuff.. NOT online?

  • HOW and WHERE can I sell my stuff (used & new) not online?? Garage/Yard sales aren't an option for me because my neighborhood is really a non-garage-sale type of town.. I have a lot of DVDs that I watched only once or twice.. all in great condition (they're practically NEW without the plastic wrap around them) I also have beautiful shoes that I wore ONCE (I love them dearly but I don't think I'll ever get to wear them again.. so I'd like to exchange them for money.. :) ) I also have COMPLETELY new shirts (some still with tags).. ..and I have other miscellaneous stuff where can I sell this stuff OFFLINE??? I haven't seen a store that buys and sells used stuff (I forget what they're called.. second-hand stores?? or hand-me-down stores?? I don't know..) There is a thrift store around, but don't they only take donations? do they buy stuff? I just feel uncomfortable with selling stuff on ebay and amazon.com what if the buyer buys something and then wants a refund?? I don't know how to take care of that! so... any ideas? thanks :)

You could put advertisements in shops, and on noticeboards advertising your things. You could also put an ad in a newspaper - some of them offer free advertising. Are there any specialist pages that display advertisements? Where I live there is a paper called the "bargain pages", do you have anything similar? As for feeling uncomfortable with ebay, there is an option you can choose when listing your item where you can accept no refunds. Good luck!

I know you said offline, but if you're ruling out a yard sale, then the only thing I can think of is to list them on Craigslist. You would meet the buyer in person and they'd give you cash, which would eliminate your worry about having to give a refund, but it would add the risk of having to go somewhere and meet a total stranger to exchange the merchandise. If that's what you choose to do -- please pick somewhere safe to meet, and bring a friend with you!

Hi there! First of all, selling on eBay isn't that hard but if you really do not want to deal with them then try to put an advertisement in the newspaper or, where I live, they have a paper called the Flyer where you sell things and they take a slight commission. You could try to look for a consignment shop-that is where they have the space to put your things and when they sell them, they give you the money with a slight charge. A consignment store is the BEST way to go as you will get a better price for them. I would like to suggest trying to sell on eBay first as it is so simple and you can set a price so that if you don't get that price , you are not obligated to sell. My best wishes to you and I really hope that you can sell your things! Have a great day! p.s. In most cities they have a pre-owned dvd and cd store-you will not get alot for your dvd's but it is a possible solution.

Depending on where you are located there are tons of great shops to sell used clothing at. In the midwest there is a store called Plato's Closet that pays a decent amount for gently used clothing. Check out this website to search for shops that buy clothes: http://www.bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com/stores-index.htm As for cd's there are many different stores to sell to - Echo, Cd warehouse, etc... Do try the online selling, however. Its easier than you think (especially ebay's tutorials) and you can also charge extra for shipping so you make more money that way. You can put a no return policy, but make sure you are selling what you say you are or your customer will grade you badly. If its the customers you are worried about, there is a website called secondspin.com where you just sell your cd's and music directly to them and then they do the re-sell (you don't earn as much though). Last idea - just donate them and collect the receipts. You might not see the money now, but donations are a huge tax write-off. :)

yeah if you have a yard sale then it's easy, if your friends do a garage sale you can go in with them on that, but EBAY is your best bet, especially if you don't have enough to fill a garage. BUT there are churches and schools that have that kind of thrift store sale things, you should look for them and befriend them. my advice is sell it on ebay. here are some tips: specify that all sales are final or and the items are sold AS IS describe the item with all the details a buyer would be interested in (cosmetic scratches, missing or broken parts, does it work?) be available (by email) to answer questions or provide more pictures if they want them if they really want a refund tell them to send the item back, and when you get it, you check it out and send thier money back... in most cases (for me at least) it's easier for that person to re-list the item and re-sell it themselves these are things I do, and I haven't had any trouble with selling on ebay for I think 6-7 years now. make the winner pay shipping and don't send anything until you get the money! a paypal account makes things easier, you just need to register with an email address then you can collect money(from credit cards even) and send money on the web. good luck

almost every town has a store that buys back gently used clothing and shoes and stuff, but you might wanna check the phonebook. Or you can post on craigslist and then sell in person....

#2 due in early Spring!

Garage sale, car boot sale, thrift store, pawn shop. They can't get a refund if they buy online, anyway.
