How can I save my money rather than spend it?Also how can I earn money?

So I have a huge trip to Disneyland coming up and I want to have some spending money. The problem is is that I spend any money I get as soon as I get it. Even if it is a measly $5 I will spend it on a magazine or candy. I am terrible about saving. How can I save my money rather than spend it. I am also looking for ideas on how to MAKE money. I can earn up to $30 a week if I work really hard but I'm in middle school and in band so my schedule is packed. So I could earn $11 with a normal amount of effort. I have tried babysitting and I love it but I can't seem to get any jobs, same with pet walking and sitting. Any ideas? Thanks!

Saving is something you have to control but why not have your guardian hold on to your money for you so you don't spend it? Also bake sales or doing chores can come with rewarding money. Longer term part time jobs for teens can be found on snagajob.com (you've gotta look for the teens section). Hope this helped!

I used to put money in my sock drawer when I was saving up for a trip. However, now I put money in an online bank account such as ingdirect.com that way it will take me a few days before I can even get the money. It makes me think how worth it my immediate needs are... which I usually realize they are just quick wants so I get over pretty quickly. Good Luck!
