Can i pay with a visa gift card on ebay?

Can I use my debit visa gift card to pay for something off ebay?

• I literally just signed up with ebay and I'm really confused with how to purchase an item. I already "committed" to buying the item and when I tried to checkout, it said that the bank denied my purchase. I don't understand why it is doing this..I know that it is not a problem with the balance on the card. The only option is paypal..is that the problem here? Also, I don't want to cause trouble with not paying quick enough. Is there a time frame of when you must pay for something you are already "committed" to buying? And if you explain a situation like this to the seller, would they take you off as committed to buying the item?

  Yes, that is the problem. The seller accepts only Paypal as a payment method. Most eBay sellers do. You should have set up your Paypal account before you attempted to bid. It takes a couple of days to set up a Paypal account. All you can do is contact the seller, apologize, and see if they're willing to wait for your payment.
