Answer:
If you think you may have an old pension but are not sure of the details, the Pension Tracing Service may be able to help. We will try and match the information you give us to one of the schemes on our database and inform you of the results. If we have made a match we will provide you with the contact address of the scheme(s) and you can get in touch with them to see if you have any pension benefits. If you would prefer to trace a pension scheme by phone or post you can: 1. Provide us with your name and telephone number using the simple call back request form and one of the team will call you back to carry out the trace for you. 2. Contact us on 0845 6002 537 and we can trace a pension scheme over the phone, or request an application form. Telephone lines are open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm. To call the Pension Tracing Service from abroad visit our 'contact us from overseas page' 3. Write to us at: Pension Tracing Service The Pension Service Tyneview Park Whitley Road Newcastle upon Tyne NE98 1BA If you have speech or hearing difficulties you can contact us using a Text phone on 0845 3000 169. Or you can use the BT text-direct service by dialling 18001 followed by the text phone number. What do we need from you? We need to know at least the name of your previous employer or pension scheme. If you can give us the following information we will have a better chance of finding a current contact and address for the scheme: * the full name and address of the employer who ran the occupational pension scheme you are trying to trace. Did the employer change names, or was it part of a larger group of companies? * the type of pension scheme you belonged to. For example was it an occupational pension scheme, personal pension scheme or a group personal pension scheme? * when did you belong to this pension scheme? For occupational pension schemes: * did the employer trade under a different name? * what type of business did the employer run? * did the employer change address at any time? For personal pension schemes: * what was the name of the personal pension scheme? * what address was it run from? * what was the name of the insurance company involved with the personal pension scheme?
