I have a blog on technical/mechanical trading systems it might help you. Things you need to really understand before you start trading is what drives the markets. Different markets are driven by different things, markets that are driven by speculators tend to work well with reversion to the mean and support and resistance based trading strategies. While markets that are driven by macro-economic fundamentals tend to trend well and are best traded with trend following strategies. Here are a few articles, I hope this helps. http://www.myforexdot.org.uk/different-types-of-markets.html http://www.myforexdot.org.uk/reversion-to-the-mean-eod-strategies.html http://www.myforexdot.org.uk/forex-trend-analysis.html http://www.myforexdot.org.uk/FreeTechnicalTradingSystems.html
