Where to get real time or delayed stock quotes from? (BSE and NSE stocks)?

I want to develop a software which will provide stock price alerts to users. Where can I get such stock quotes either in real time or in delayed mode without parsing an entire Google Finance Page or Yahoo Finance Page. Also I wanted to know if anyone has the idea as to how these portals like Yahoo Finance and Google Finance get their stock information from?
