Where can I find an IPO Tombstone advertisement?

  • Tombstone=full page newspaper ad I'm looking to buy an IPO Tombstone ad but I can't find any ANYWHERE. I find it hard to believe that nobody has kept ANY for collectors to buy later on. Does anyone know where I can find one? please don't simply answer 'ebay'. I've looked and can't find any. If you find a specific listing on ebay with one, please post that.

A tombstone ad is not defined as being a full page. It is an ad that, like a tombstone, that contains nothing more than names and dates. This is because issues that offer securities for sale must contain a lot of disclosure that won't fit in an ad. But the brokers want to get credit for the job, so they run an ad afterward listing their participation, usually followed by "This announcement appears as a matter of record only."
