How do I know if someone is going to put a sniper bid on ebay?

  • There is a designer periscope selling on ebay on Sunday. It currently has NO BIDS but I have it on good authority that it has it has **5649 watchers**!     Are you trying to generate interest because you're selling and nobody is interested? This is a second 99p item from IKEA - and nobody wants it, particularly with a £4.50 p&p charge. Pull the other one!

Best way to bid is always the sniper shot. Figure out the highest price you are willing to pay. Set up your screens for that bid, complete but for the last click. Watch the clock on a second screen if needed, and drop your bid with about 10 seconds or so to go. The time allowed would depend on how good your server response is; the objective is to not allow time after your bid for anyone else to complete a new bid to top you. This certainly does not guarantee a win. The existing bid max may be actually higher than yours and will automatically top you, or some other snipe may do so. However if you win, it will be at and often below the price you wanted to pay. Note that by posting the link to the item here, you have increased the traffic and potential bidder list.
