Is it advisable to invest in Online Share Trading (NSE/BSE) in December?

Hi, I am planning to invest some money in Online Share Trading (NSE/BSE), but some people advising me not to invest money in the month of December, presuming loses and closing of market for one week during the christmans holidays. Just would like to know experts' opinion on this regard. Please advise.
