    Definitely the Midwest. Biggest affordable cities would include Des Moines, Milwaukee, and places in Nebraska, Kansas, Ohio. Probably cheaper in small towns than big cities, too. Check out the Money Magazine search list below.

In Syria you can rent a an apartment for $25 a month. Thailand is also very cheap. You won't need a car in syria just buy a camel. Buy property, rent it, and when it's paid for you can use the rent money to live like a king in thailand. BAM! Problem solved.

With your parents. Next to that kentucky or anywhere south, including florida with for what you'd pay for a car you could buy land and a decent mobile home. If it's under a certain amount and you live there, you pay no taxes.
