Unemployment Benefits after a temp job?

Will my unemployment benefits be cut off if I work a 1 or 2 day job through a temp agency?

  • My husband receives unemployment benefits. He has started looking for work through temp agencies & I am wondering if he takes a one or two day job through an agency will his benefits be cut off?

  • Answer:

<Eligible check> Although specific eligibility requirements vary from state to state, most states have the same basic standards for collecting unemployment benefits. They include: -You must be unemployed or working less than full time -You must meet certain income requirements -You must be ready, willing, and able to work -You must have involuntarily left your job In general, you won't be eligible for benefits if: -You quit your job simply because you didn't like it -You're fired for committing a crime (e.g., stealing) -You've never worked before I'd recommend you to go ahead and call your local unemployment office, and get a clear answer.

Im in the current situation. You can make usually up to half your current benefit without it cutting off all your benefits. I work part time every week and still get a partial benefit. It actually extended the length ill receive mine!
