Where to get an automated phone system?

How to skip around insurance automated systems on the phone?

  • Working at a healthcare office can be strenuous at time, as calling insurance companies to get our patient's eligibilities is a daily norm. Calling up to 10 different insurance companies a day, and most of them resulting to an automated message system that is a nuisance, i was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to skip through these automated systems swiftly? Is there another phone number that these insurances have that's hidden? Thanks!

http://www.dialahuman.com/Categories.htm I found this one day and sometimes it works to avoid getting to an automated system. As the other stated, when you finally talk to someone ask them for a direct number to call back and if lucky they might give. Another away around it is to ask their name and extension, you can say you need to note for your records. that way you now have an extension number to call and that person will get stuck getting your calls from now on, unless they never pick up the phone or lets all the calls go to voice-mail. Otherwise, you will need to get a list together every time you get lucky and someone tells you another number to call for reference. good luck

A few years back there was published a few numbers to get around most large businesses, and I cannot find the list, but I did find that when asked to push any number, I just press the zero, real fast for about eight or nine times, that throws most of them off and I get operator assistance OK, so if that don't work, send them a fax, and let them call you back, works for me.

Build your own list. Each time you call an insurance company, tell them you are working for a healthcare office and you have tons of work to do and can't wait through a 5 minute recording every time you call. Ask the person you get, "Is there a business number that is different from the patient number, so when I call XYZ Company I get right to a person?" If there is a number, (the insurance people may not have a business-only line) then write it down and keep track of it.
