What is the very best way to get into the insurance business?

Is there a way to get compensation from insurance for working without pay due to bad business conditions?

  • Our sales have slipped over the years, and I've worked on the basis that things would get back to normal. However, I've had to take a night job to pay bills, meanwhile in the day working without compensation. My family owns the company, we're in Virginia. Is there some way to get compensation through insurance or something else for the time I've worked without pay...or am I SOL?

  • Answer:

no form of business insurance covers that, afaik. unemployment might cover you if the business has been paying in for you in the past and if you stop working there -- but then, since you have a night job, you may not be eligible. guess you're SOL

You don't get compensation through insurance - you sue the business. You can also file a complaint with the state labor board. Of course, it will likely drive them OUT of business.
