What reputable health insurance companies are out there?

What kind of health insurance do companies usually give to employers?

  • so i was talking to my uncle he was sad at hwo hes only making 20,000 a year then i told him hey atleast u get free health insurance. i mean the lower your salary the more health insurance you get. then he told me how if you work for a company they give u health insurance as benefit. can someone elaborate.

  • Answer:

Many companies do not give any. There is no one type that they usually give. There are many different types. The comment about "the lower your salary the more health insurance you get". At most companies, everyone gets the same amount. At a few companies, the highest paid workers get more insurance. I have never heard of any company where lower paid employees automatically get more insurance. The only thing thing that comes vaguely close was a state government where "management" employees got higher salaries and "union" employees got better insurance.

Uncle is clueless. Many (by no means all) employers give their full time workers some kind of medical insurance. Each employer is different in what it covers and how much it costs. With him making 20,000 and free insurance it's some kind of low level state or local government job I'll bet.
