Can please recommened where I can purchase short term health insurance for a single person?

• Searching for US health insurance on line....too complicated. Usually I had insurance thru work. Nowadays I am self employed. Need insurance for me for 6 months, because when get married, will be under husbands insurance. (I saw the short term ins. offers, are they real?) In short,I've got to get a biopsy and possibly undergo a small surgery, before we even proceed with wedding plans as I am worried about my health current issue. So, I want to co-pay (I don't have a choice all of us have to co-pay) but no more them $50 per visit, or 20% of the visit fee. I am OK with co-paying for Rx, half or less. I have no clue what they Dr. and/or labs want patients to co-pay for lab work....As far as deductible, I am willing, (or can afford more so) 500 dollars, 1000 max for deductible. Can some one knowledgeable please help me. Can you recommend me a plan? Most Drs take PPO correct? What about Humana? Or the famous BCBS? Aetna PPO perhaps. Can average person even afford something like that on their own. I saw plans on line like start at like: $120-144-181 per month for an individual, but I can't simply trust what I see on line..Any thoughts?

  For your situation (actually, any situation), I do not recommend "short term health insurance", which is the worst type of health insurance available. Even if you need insurance only for a short period of time, get whatever regular health insurance you would get if you needed it for a long time, and then cancel it when you no longer need it. Get whatever insurance you would have gotten if you needed it for 20 years. If you only need it for 6 months, cancel it after 6 months. Do not get short-term insurance.
