• I am 7 months pregnant and my maternity leave starts in two months So that's when my disability will start I was wondering how much the check will be does it depend on how much income you make ? My job doesn't pay into the CA state Disability but i used to work at the post office for 6 months so i payed into it then i will be out of work for 12 weeks (FMLA) and then i will return to work where I will not need a SDI check but my doctor said for the time i will be out of work I can get Disability EDD i am just wondering how much the check will come out to so that I have an Idea of how much I will need to save. This is my first time that I will be on disability so I have no Idea how it works any advice is helpful thanks!!! and I am entittled to 12 weeks off right under FMLA or is it longer?

  The FMLA only guarantees that your employer hold your job while out. Depending on the circumstance, you may not be entitled to compensation. You need to talk to your employers HR department to see if you are entitled to any income while out for maternity leave. Each employer has there own rules and benefits.
