Would I be able to collect (Federal) unemployment insurance if I move to another state?

I was wondering if I could still collect the unemployment benefits if I decide to move out of state. So would I be able to collect (Federal) unemployment insurance if I move to another state?

    Yes this is possible you will have to claim it from Kansas unless you recently worked in California. I was living in Florida and collecting New Jersey unemployment.

Since there is no such thing as "(Federal) unemployment insurance", the answer is technically no, you cannot collect it, because it does not exist. To answer the real question that you meant to ask, you will be able to collect unemployment insurance, but: 1) It will not be "(Federal)" unemployment insurance, since there is no such thing, and 2) The amount that you can collect might be different.

You'd have to reopen the claim in California. Even though the feds set the rules, unemployment is managed on a state to state basis. In other words, you can't transfer a KS claim to CA.
