What insurance company do you have and how much do you pay monthly?

  • I'm just wondering, I'm about to get my first car (I turn 16 in 2 weeks) and I'm just trying to decide what's the best insurance for me, and I have a job so I'm trying to calculate how much money I'd have to make to be able to pay for insurance+gas. Soo what's your insurance company, how much do you pay a month, and how old are you? thanks guys:)

    I pay NOTHING per month. Paying for ANYTHING - including insurance - on a "monthly payment" basis, is a trick to enslave people who are bad at math and budgeting. You will NEVER grow wealthy, paying monthly. If you have this car on your own policy, budget $3,000 a year for insurance, for minimum coverage (that means, you pay cash for the car), $500 for tax, title, registration, $2,000 for gas, $2,000 for maintenance/repairs. Consumer Reports says, on average, owning a car costs $10,000 a year.

Since you are 16, you need to call and talk to the agent and/or insurance company your parents have and ask them. For every 16 year old out there and for every insurance company out there, there is no way for you to compare prices, since all have different variables. good luck

I am 36 and pay $130/month for my auto insurance with Progressive and live in Virginia. However auto insurnace rates vary greatly between states and also has to do with your age, grades, and family's driving history.
