Is Essential Health Insurance legitimate?

Is there a legitimate Life Insurance company that doesn't ask health/medical questions?

  • you see this on tv, but i don't know anything about these companies..i've been turned down for life insurance, but would like to leave my spouse something. ty

  • Answer:

Technically, yes, but it is not a good deal. Here is why: 1. If you die within the first two years, then they only return whatever you paid for the insurance; they do not pay the full death benefit. Your spouse would get just as much money if you did not get life insurance and simply left your spouse the money that you were going to spend on life insurance. 2. If you live a lot longer than two years, then the total amount of money you will have to spend to keep insurance for that long is more than the death benefit. Your spouse would get more money if you did not get life insurance and simply left your spouse the money that you were going to spend on life insurance. 3. The only way that your spouse will get more from the life insurance than you spend on the life insurance is if you live for slightly longer than two years, but only slightly longer, not less and not a lot longer. And, even if you live for the "perfect" amount of time, which is 731 days, your spouse will get only slightly more money than if you did not get life insurance and simply left your spouse the money that you were going to spend on life insurance. The bottom line is that if you want to leave your spouse something, then do not get life insurance, and leave your spouse the money that you would have spent on getting and keeping life insurance if you had gotten life insurance.

Your only chance of getting life insurance if you have been turned down before is to look for what is called a graded death benefit type policy. What that means is that for the first 2 or 3 years if you were to die they would just return what you paid into the policy but after that they would actually pay the face value. There is one company that is fairly lenient called Monumental Life. Feel free to contact me, you can get my information by clicking on my profile I can try to help you find an agent in your state that might be licensed with that company. They still ask a few questions but it's not like most life insurance applications and they only do fairly small policies.

Just go to a good life insurance broker. They can shop the market for you to find coverage. They're also free to use, but be sure to process your applications through them so they get compensated for their time.

If you have been turned down before, it was for good reason. Nothing personal, but I understand how this stuff works. Take whatever you can afford to pay for life insurance and put it into a savings account or buy CDs with it. Or, just start gifting that money to your heirs.

If you want to leave someone some money it would be best to put some money into a savings or mutual fund or some other investment. Or, buy something for them while your alive.
