What does the Celtic Insurance Company cover?

My insurance company never informed me that they would not cover an inpatient stay, what should i do?

  • basically what happened is i went to the hospital for inpatient treatment- i was approved for 7 days, and i wanted to stay longer, i was in a rehab and that's how it would work- if you needed more days, the doctors would put a request in and it would usually go through. also the hospital said that they have a good relationship with my insurance company and that the doctor would get me more days- and my doctor himself said that he would get me more days and that i should stay so i did. well my insurance company never called the hospital back- and apparently by law if they don't call back within 3 days they are legally supposed to cover it. well i got a letter in the mail sent on the 15th of march (i went in the hospital on feb 26th was initially covered until march 5th- asked for more days and i stayed until the 11th) the letter said that they denied my request to stay more days...what should i do? i was not informed within 3 days..and my doctors ASSURED me that i could stay- i needed to. i

  • Answer:

Better talk to your doctor and the hospital. They should never have told you something was covered if it wasn't. They do not work for the insurance company. They are contractors.
