How much does my insurance go up if?

Got my first ticket ever..68 in a 55..how much will i have to pay and how much will my insurance go up?

  • I'm 19...this is my first ticket ever...how much will the ticket cost? And I pay 157 a month for my insurance...how much will it go up? And when will it go up? Got the ticket today...its due by Jan 27th

  • Answer:

The specifics depend on a lot of things. The price of the ticket depends on the local government and their pricing structure. The insurance impact depends on the company, where you live and your driving record. If it does go up, likely it will happen when the insurance policy renews (annually or semi-annually). Check your insurance card for the ending date.

The ticket? Varies. Call the city court and see, I think anything over overtime parking ($45 bucks-!!) is $150, minimum, in my area. Even parking in the wrong place is $150. (We fought it and won.) Go to court, the officer may not show and you win. Or, you can go for diversion, no point on your record, no increase in insurance. $157 a Month-?! Shop around. I pay $48, I can get it for $25.And, some companies won't raise rates on a first ticket, call them. For $157 a mo, they better not. Better be comprehensive, too.

Most states, your first MINOR moving violation ever, meaning, less than 15mph over the speed limit, is not surchargable. So odds are, it won't increase your insurance at all. Next one will, though.
