What are unemployment benefits?

What to do about being overpaid unemployment insurance benefits?

  • My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Wisconsin Hello I have a question I recently received a letter stating that I was overpaid unemployment for a couple weeks that I was already employed. The reason I kept filing for unemployment was because I was technically not receiving any payment from my current job, and I need some income to make ends meet. Now they are saying I need to do a phone interview about the situation. I need serious help and am not sure what to exactly tell the interviewer, any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

  • Answer:

    A. Social Security Retirement benefits do not affect your unemployment benefits. ... all or part of the unemployment insurance benefits that have been paid to you. ... the overpaid unemployment benefits by using your current benefits.
