How to check your grades on a student portal?

If I lie about my grades to get a good student discount with my car insurance, does it matter? Do they check?

  • I'm paying like $600 a month, and it could go down like $200 lower. I was getting good grades when I first got insurance, but they have slipped since then, and now the insurance company is asking for my grades. If I submit an altered grade transcript to the car insurance company looking to get a good student dicount, do I have to worry about them calling the school to check? Is this a realistic concern? If they do, what are the real consquences?

    ~~You will be caught, if you change a transcript more than likely it would be apparent and they can ask for further proof from your guidance counselor. I don't know how serious the consequences would be to lie to an insurance company. If you are caught and you had an accident of any sort, you would have no coverage. It is not worth cheating, you just have to pay till you get the grades back up.~~

Submitting an altered grade report is insurance fraud. It is a crime. The real consequences are that you could be prosecuted for insurance fraud if caught.

Yes, they don't actually apply the discount, until you've sent in a report card. Yes, kids try doing that all the time - sending altered or fake transcripts. It won't work.

They could check, and then you're looking at felony insurance fraud. Don't do this.

You'll be involved in fraudulence which is a crime. Every insurance company I know asks for official transcripts and they can tell if someone tampered with them or not. If you get caught, you can get kicked out of the insurance company and your school. It's a serious matter and I would suggest you simply try harder next time in school and deal with the consequences for right now of paying a higher price.

They do not apply the discount until they get the grades.
