Is fire possible without life?

If I'm studying for my 'Fire & Casualty' license, WHY do I need to know about the requirements of Life Insurer?

  • I am about to take the (California) State Exam to obtain my 'Fire and Casualty' license to sell Insurance. I just finished learning the 'CA Insurance Ethics & Code' .. but now I am learning the 'Life Insurance Law & Regulation'. .. it's teaching me all about the 'continuing education' requirements that are required yearly to maintain the license AND it's teaching me all the different rules and regulations behind the 'Life Insurance' agents. WHY do I need to know so much about 'Life Agents' when I won't even be licensed to sell Health Insurance or Life Insurance ... And for anyone who is a 'Fire & Casualty' Agent (preferably Ca.) -- HOW much of the State Exam will be based on my knowledge of 'Life Insurance' and 'Health Insurance' policies and the requirements needed for 'Life Agents' to maintain THEIR licenses??? 'Life Agents' have different requirements for continuing education that 'Fire & Casualty' Agents, shouldn't I be focusing on the license I'm getting instead of getting this flash course on THEIR requirements and policy information???

  • Answer:

It's part of being an agent. Sorry. Here the bureauocracy starts, and doesn't end. As to how much, if I remember correctly, there was only one question on it on my test. But that's no guarantee there won't be two or three on yours - the test questions are pulled pretty much at random from a group of 500 or so questions.
