My husband and i are in our 25-35 age category, we both attend school full and part time, we make our living with the work study program, and we need better insurance. Currently what we have we pay $176 per month, has a $10,000 deductible, it costs $100 to see any dr. My annual exams are not even covered and thats $400, no dental coverage included, and the preventative birth control is not covered costing another $100+. In dec 0f 2011 my husband had a hernia, caused by his work that he was laied off from right before. He needed surgery and it was cheaper to pay out of pocket $2850.00 than to have our current insurance and end up paying $5000.00 I need help dose any one know a simple way to narrow down and understand what you are paying for when it comes to health insurance?? Ive typed my info in an then get bombarded with phone calls- I just need something that costs me $25-$50 to see any dr, has a $2000 deductible for emergencies, and covers annual exams, with a small bit of dental and a psychologist coverage.

I know a way to narrow down and understand the insurance plans. You need to speak with a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can help you find the best plan for your situation and budget. There is no charge using an agent. With the need for psychological coverage and the recent surgery it may be impossible to find a private plan that will accept you, depending upon your state of residence. Or they'll increase the premium or they'll not cover that condition, also depending upon your state of residence and the insurance company. Also, insurance companies do not operate in every state so any suggestions you get on a website such as this may not even be available to you.

Your policy is pretty bad. How do you expect to make your annual $10,000 deductible? Go and talk to an independent insurance agent who is familiar with the policies and plans in your state that are right for you. It seems better in the meantime to pay cash at a local community clinic.

It most states, it is not possible to get health insurance with a small bit of dental coverage. If you want to have any dental coverage, then you need to get two different insurance policies: One health insurance policy that has no dental coverage, and one dental insurance policy that has only dental coverage. In any case, there is no health insurance that is available to students between 19 and 64 in all 50 states. You have to get whatever insurance is available in the state where you live. I do not have time to list the best health insurance for all 50 states. If you want to know the best insurance that you can get, then you have to ask your question again and say which state is the one where you live.

Look, the average low deductible plan for you guys, if you have NOTHING wrong, NO maternity (dental is NEVER covered, it's always a separate policy) is probably going to run about $700 per month for the both of you. However. Since he's had surgery in the past year, you could very well have a difficult time finding anyone willing ot take you guys on. Yep, those online websites, the POINT of them, is to harvest your personal information and sell it. Sounds like you want a LOCAL (to you) broker, who can explain how it works. But. There's no such thing as having a deductible ONLY for emergencies, and NOT for planned appointments. Dental is ALWAYS a separate plan. And if you ALREADY know you need a psychologist, it's a preexisting condition, and most insurance companies will automatically decline you, or refuse to offer mental health benefits.
