What do you need to become an Insurance Underwriter in Texas?
-
Do you need some type of license or something >>>
-
Answer:
Well, you need a job offer, not to be too flip about it. If you're working for a company, dealing with agents, you don't need any kind of license - they train you up. But you can't get hired without a bachelor's degree. If you work with clients, though, you need a license to sell insurance - whichever lines you're dealing with. Most companies hire their underwriters at college job fairs, or through headhunters or networking. And if it's not a college job fair, you need a LOT of insurance experience in order to get that job.
