Who has the best health insurance in South Carolina?

North Carolina Health Insurance?

  • Right now I have blue cross and blue sheild insurance. It's becoming ridiculous to pay each month and deductibles are through the roof! I'm a healthy 25 yr old female. I need to know, what are some insurance companies in the state of North Carolina that are cheaper, but are still helpful with doctor's visits and prescriptions. What health insurance do you have and what's the cost? Any help or opinions about would be great! thanks:))))

  • Answer:

Look at the other plans that BC/BS offer. They might have a plan with a higher deductible which would actually save you money if you don't use the doctors office often. For example: if you save $100 in premiums each month, that's $1200 a year, but you might have to spend a little extra out of pocket, we'll say $300 = that's still a savings of $900 annually. And if you have a medical emergency, the insurance will still be in place. You can also look at high deductible health plans, which will be much less costly and allow you to put money into a medical savings account, for medical expenses on a pre-tax basis. - you are lowering your income tax and saving money. If this is all "too much", contact an insurance broker in your area that will help you walk through all the hoops. -- Don't be afraid of taking a high deductible plan. If you have that much in medical bills ($4000-5000) the hospital will work out a very generous payment plan with you. Just don't ignore the bills.
