Hi, Most companies have very specific regulations concerning communication in the business or using company assets like computers and phones.  Generally they specify the font to be used in both printed and computer comunication. Each font is selected for ease of reading and professional look.  I thought it strange but an article I read on email communication said the font used in emails shouldn't be the easiest to read but one that causes the reader to slow down to gain a deeper understanding of what's being read.  A standardized signature block  should be established, communicated, and enforced. It should require all details needed to contact a person and not allow anything not soecifcally of a business nature.   Cute, nifty sayings or quotations as part of the signature block should be forbidden.  The only exception is the inclusion of the company's slogan or trademark.  The heading should give enough detail to make it clear the overall topic. Each email string should be in only one topic and when it becomes splintered a separate string should be started.  Spell check is necessary to maintain professionalism.  Smiley faces either as regular pictures or typed in like :) should be forbidden.  Communications should be strictly business in nature and emails about Bib and Sally's anniversary shouldn't be sent in company equipment. Almost everyone has a smart phone or computer of their own and don't need company assets to keep I touch with friends.  I wish I had all the rules AT&T had because they were excellent guidelines to use or establish your regulations on.
