Where can I use my credit or debit card?

Can you use an Ebay gift card without having an actual credit/ debit card linked to a paypal account?

  • I want to go out and buy an ebay gift card since there's some things I've been wanting from ebay. The problem is that I don't have a debit/ credit card, so I dont know if ebay will allow me to use it since they want you to have a paypal account (which requires you to have a credit/ debit card). Is it possible for me to but things off ebay without having a card related to a banking system?? Thanks. I'm offering 10 points for the best answer...I just don't want to buy a gift card and end up not being able to use it.

    Paypal normally doesn't accept prepaid gift cards of any kind. The exceptions include the eBay gift card. This requires you have a paypal account in good standing AND from the eBay website: "Terms & conditions You must have an eBay account and PayPal account registered in the U.S. to redeem the eBay Gift Card. For security purposes, a credit card or bank account may be required." So, yes, you need to have something linked to the account. These policies are intentional as they filter out underaged users LIKE YOU. You are 15 and three years too young to be on eBay, paypal, etal.

You don't need a credit card to use Paypal. When you buy something, start the checkout process and when you get in there, there will be an option to select "gift card" where you can put in the card code number.
