Can i use gift card for home depot to pay existing balances?

hi i just got a present which was a home depot gift card, i already have an existing due balance which i owe to home depot could i use this gift card to pay for my balances?

I would check both on the back of your gift card as well as your monthly Home Depot card statement. There are some businesses that will allow the balance of gift cards to apply towards credit card balances. The majority of stores, for whatever reason, do not. The best bet would be to either call the customer service number on your credit card statement. If that doesn't work, go to a local store and ask a manager or customer service rep.
