Where can I find Credit Card applications online?

My ExperianPlus score is 597. Do you think I'd be able to get a credit card? Details below:?

  • I had had several Hospital visits, and also several denied Credit Card applications (probably because I was under Student Visa and I did NOT have a full time job and permanent address in the US) before I was finally able to pay them off by around April 2006 then I bought a car through a dealership soon after that. The dealership was so great that they were able to find me a Bank willing to do me an Auto Loan. That's what gives me a Credit Score. But I've heard that in order to raise my Credit Score quickly, I would need Revolving credit- which is from a Credit Card Now I've a Full time Job, and working under a working visa... and awaiting for my Green Card...but with my Credit Score of 597, Do you think I'd be able to obtain one? If so, which bank should I start with? Are there any Bank that would easily approve a case like mine?

  • Answer:

I was able to get an unsecured credit card through Orchard bank just recently and I had a score of 563 and a banruptcy about a 1 1/2 years ago. I get tons of credit card junk mail DAILY! But I found a website that cut through the nitty gritty and broke down the interest rates and availability and I got approved in 60 seconds. I also recently opened a Target store credit card without any problems. I too, need to build my credit up with revolving accounts. If I can use them wisely and make timely payments, it should not be long before I see better credit card rates coming in the mail. I also found out that you can raise your credit score 20-50 points by getting a SMALL loan through a local bank or credit union and paying half back immediately and the rest of the balance in 4 equal monthly payments. You can do this repeatedly and boost your score tremendously. It shows that you are credit trustworthy and can pay back your debts on time.

You'll probably have to get a card that either charges an annual fee OR a secured card (where you send in money for them to hold as collateral for your charges). Either way, once you do get a card, use it at least once a month (just for something small-like 1 tank of gas). Then pay it off each month. That way that card will put on your credit report that you are paying your account as agreed. After awhile, your score will start to climb.

Experian plus score is not you true experian credit score. The only way to know the credit score that lenders will see is to get your scores for fico.com. Fico is your true credit scores. Sub prime lenders like capital one and orchard, might extend you some credit lines.

Try Orchard Bank. They will give credit to you. It is a secured card, which means you will have to pay a deposit, but they also report to the credit bureaus on a monthly basis. Go to www.creditinfocenter.com. They have a link to all types of credit cards on that site, and you can schoose which one will be best for you. Good Luck!

Even though your score is relatively low, you should be able to get a credit card. The intrest will likely be higher and the credit limit will be lower, but it will be a start for you. remember you are reBUILDING your credit. This will take time and dicipline. Get your card, and start using it to pay things that you would normally pay by cash/check like your utility bills. BUT be certain to PAY IT OFF EVERY MONTH. Do not allow your balance to roll over to the next month. If you pay off every month, you will not be charged intrest, and you begin building a positive reputation with the creditors. follow these basic principles and you will rebuild your credit Good luck

well, usually the minimum score that is required to get a line of credit is around 620. maybe you should try applying for a credit card that you have to put a down payment on. for instance, you will put down 200 and after 6 months or a year of paying on time and usung your card wisely, the company will refund your deposit and your credit score will get alot better. i did the same thing, and it worked wonders for my fico score. good luck! you may want to try www.orchardbank.com or typing in "credit cards for people with bad credit" in the search bar

Can't give you a "bank", but you probably can get a card. In any case, you may not be privileged to obtain the best interest rate. If/when you do, read the fine print very carefully. If you cannot pay the balance in full every month, at least pay more than the payment required by the lender. In the fine print, you will find that two or three missed payments can increase your interest rate to 20-30% annually. That can be devastating. DO NOT accept every card that is offered to you. Every creditor looks at the available credit "open to you", whether or not you carry a balance. More is not better. Unused credit is not a plus. If one is not using an open account, close it. It's a minus to leave it open.
