How can I use a prepaid credit card?

I just got my first credit card, how can I best use it to raise my credit score?

  • I'm 18 and just got my first credit card. I have a $300 line of credit. I have a good job and already have $2,000 saved for a down payment on a hopefully newer car. I'm not worried about getting into credit card debt, as I plan never to use it once I get an auto loan, but in the mean time I need to use it in order to build my credit. What type of spending (occasion spending, or spending close to the credit limit) payment (minimum payment, full payment, payment percentage) combination is best?

One good way to raise your credit card score is to put a small bill on your credit card like your cell phone bill and pay it automatically with your credit card and then just pay cash to the credit card. This way you are paying off your credit card every month and showing that you are responsible. Always pay your credit card off every month. Also remember that you spend more than half of your credit card limit the credit burea's look at how much credit you use as well.

charge a small amount and pay the bill in full on time each and every month!!!
