How do I get proof of Judgement debt, from a company and its collectors.?
-
About a year and half ago my credit was inquired into by a company called ALW Sourcing, I notified Transunion that i did not authorize this inquiry and asked that it be removed, about the same time I received a letter from ALW Sourcing saying they were trying to collect a debt for a company called Pinnacle Credit Services who had purchased the debt from another creditor, I responded with a call to them, they said I had a judgement against me from over thirteen years ago and that I needed to fax them a letter saying I disputed the debt, So i faxed the letter to them stating i am unaware of any debt or judgement against me as i was never served or notified, and that i dispute any such debt, but the only response I recieved months later from ALW Sourcing was a letter saying they would not remove the inquiry into my credit because they were trying to collect a debt, Transunion also sent a letter back to me saying ALW Sourcing was trying to collect a debt, The inquiry was not removed from my credit report. About a month latter I got a letter from an entirely different company saying they were trying to collect on a debt with the same original creditor as ALW Sourcing And Pinnacle Credit, But only this collection agancy said its creditor was not pinnacle but a company called LVNV, so i sent this new collection agency a simalar letter such as the one sent to ALW Sourcing, but recieved no response from them. Within the last year I recieved yet another letter from another collection agency saying they are trying to collect a debt for Pinnacle Credit Services. I have recently found a phone number and address for Pinnacle Credit Services, and called them to verify the account numbers listed on their collectors letters to me, they verified the account number listed on thier letters to me but continuously asked for my Social Security number before doing so, I did not give them my social. Everytime I call Pinnacle the initial phone Rep. says i need to talk with a person named "steve" but when i call he is always busy on the phone and i need to leave a message or call back. Im told for a company to inquire into a persons credit they must either have authorization from the consumer or a provable debt they are trying to collect. I cannot hire an attorney, and hope anyone can tell me how to send a letter to Pinnacle Credit Services in such a way that i can prove to a judge that I have asked for proof of debt in this letter, Can I just have the letter notorized and sent? I hope to clear any illegitimate debt against me. Thanks, Troy

Answer:
Troy, if the debt is 13 years old, I highly doubt it's enforceable. Plus, it's only an inquiry. I wouldn't worry about it.
