Sounds like you are probably going to need an unsecured loan. I don't think I would worry about getting your credit score, because your credit is already shot if you've been 90+ days late on multiple cards. Doing so would just be a waste of $20, so I would focus on the lenders - finding some who work with bad credit situations and don't require a house, car, etc. as collateral. Check out the links page on carsforanycredit.com and especially the link at the top that says "guaranteed personal loans". Another option since it's not a huge sum of money would be to borrow from friends/family. If you go that route, just be sure that you pay them back in full, and as promised. Money can destroy relationships, so if you do borrow from friends/family, be very careful, because if you default on your loan, it's not like taking a hit on a credit report - it could mean losing a friend.
