Will I be disqualified from obtaining series 6/63 if I took debt settlement?
-
I was recently hired by a bank that requires me to obtain my series 6, series 63 and life license. I have taken 2 debt settlements in the past two years. The company I am with did a background check and credit check and cleared me to work for them. But will those two debt settlements keep me from obtaining my 6 and 63 licenses?

Answer:
The only think that would keep you from getting the licenses would be a fraudulent or ethical breech, or the appearance of the same. No one will prevent you from getting the licenses for doing things that sometimes happen in the course of business or issues in every day life, but if there appears to be some sort of impropriety or an insolvency issue, they may question it if there appears to be a pattern.
